Gorilla Trekking

Gorilla Trekking is the most popular thing to do in both Uganda and Rwanda . This adventure offers travellers with a chance to see the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Remember there are no mountain gorillas in the zoo. Uganda has two national parks protecting the mountain gorillas. On a gorilla safari in Uganda travelers also have the opportunity to see the country’s perennial wildlife such as Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Giraffe and Leopard.

Primates are exceptionally well represented in Uganda, with a check list that presently includes 13 diurnal and 6 nocturnal species.

Planning a Gorilla Safari

A number of safari companies  will take you to regions known as gorilla habitats of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park and Mgahinga National Park. Gorilla safaris in Uganda range from 3 Day Trips to longer stays for those interested to discover more in the region.

Currently gorilla permits cost USD600 though there are off season rates of USD350 per person in months of November, April and May.
