Is Hiring a Private Car in Uganda a Good Idea?

By all grades, hiring a car in Uganda is a good idea and it is the best way to explore Uganda conveniently and comfortably. Therefore, you should not be discouraged from renting a car just because it is a foreign country – Uganda. I again assure you that hiring a 4×4 car in Uganda is the best idea only that you have to be aware that some roads are surely very narrow than those you have been driving onto, so when you pass other drivers be careful.

I think like in any other country, you should not leave your hired car unlocked whenever you are going out of it for something, especially in major cities such as Kampala and others – where there are many idles and wrongdoers.

How rewarding is it to hire a car in Uganda?

Uganda is filled up with numerous places worthy a visit for any traveler who wishes to leave Africa with a great experience. It is really very hard and nearly impossible to fully discover all the adventurous and amazing places in Uganda.

However, with your hired car, you can visit quite many of them than you would do with a public car. A private car will offer you a lot of flexibility, independence and convenience to explore the Pearl of Africa – Uganda at the exact pace you would like, contrary with a public car.

Hiring a car in Uganda has a lot of rewards than snags, of which some of the rewards include; with a private hired car, you will be able to do the game drives in Uganda’s remarkable national parks like Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks, hence having excellent and magnificent game viewing. Among the big games you can see on your game drives include: African Lions, African Leopards, African Elephants, Cape Buffaloes, Zebras, and Giraffes, among others.

When you have a private hired car, you can go wherever you want to go without any difficulty and as quick as you would wish. And you can change at any time you want if at all you realize later that what you are doing or where you are heading to will delay you as far as your time is concerned, for example if you are on your Kampala city tours and you have decided to visit the Uganda Martyrs’ shrines in Namugongo, about 30 minutes’ drive from Kampala city centre, you can decide to change your mind quickly and don’t visit them if at all you find a lot of traffic jam and other problems on the way, and thus you can then alter to visit other convenient places around Kampala like the Kasubi tombs, Akayaanja ka Kabaka (Buganda King’s Lake), Lubiri Palace Mengo, Munyonyo Martyrs Shrines, Uganda National Museum, and many others.

Travelers should also know that most of Uganda’s adventurous places are in rural and remote areas and not on highways, hence if you opt to visit them with a public transport (buses and taxis), you will end up boarding various means of transport to access that particular place you would wish to visit which is really exasperating, unlike with your private car where you can go straight to that specific place you want to visit.

For sure, it is a good idea to hire a car in Uganda and you cannot tell all its rewards unless when you contact 4×4 car hire Uganda (one of Uganda’s leading and proficient car rental companies) to hire you a good-quality vehicle of your choice and then wait for the stupendous outcomes later on.

Kidepo Valley National Park is found in northern part of Uganda (Karamoja) and boarders Sudan in the north west plus Kenya in the north east. It is home to 77 mammals and almost 500 bird species.

Kidepo Valley National Park is dry, hot and isolated yet spectacular, magnificent and virgin. The shortest and most favorable route from Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park is a 571 km journey which starts from Kampala through Gulu, Kitgum and to Kidepo. The park is transverse by large sand Rivers, dry mountain forests, open savanna and hilltops capped by rock kopjes.

To the foreigners to access to Kidepo Valley National Park they have to use the chartered air crafts to Kidepo which can be arranged from Kajjansi, or from Entebbe airport to Lomej airstrip near the park headquarters where by the flight takes two hours. But there is a plan by the civil aviation authority to make Lomej airstrip an international airport in order to enable visitors fly in direct to Kidepo from abroad.

After discovering the long journey from Kampala to Kidepo you will be directed to where you can sleep and there are many lodges near the park where the visitors can stay for the next day which they are to perform the tourism activities. The following day in the morning after cleaning and working on yourself, you will first have breakfast before going in the field, after taking a coffee of tea you will then be given park guiders which will help you in everything you will be needing to know about this park and it is much interesting when you have your own car from 4×4 car hire Uganda that offers 4×4 wheel vehicles.

They will escort you to the Narus valley which is the park’s wildlife congregates where you will view many animals at a close range and these include the zebras which always move in a group and they look very attractive to the visitors due to their good looking colour. you will also have a chance to see the giraffes which also move in a group and look very attractive too, still at Kidepo national park you will have a chance to see very many buffaloes and elephants plus many other animals which you need to go there and see.

The Karamojong are traditionally cattle raiders and hunters however through community conservation education, their lifestyle is gradually changing and most of them know the value of conservation of the park compared to the past years whereby they couldn’t even put on clothes but now days at least they have their dressing code.

Leaving alone the Karamojong cultures and whatever, the park has got very many bird species and it is one the national parks in east Africa having many bird species being next to Queen Elizabeth national park, so you will also have a big chance to view many birds in the park and one of the most enjoyable activity in the park is birding which is mostly done in the morning and in the evening.

Therefore, after your tour which requires at least 3 to 4 days to complete due to many attractive objects in the park, you will then have to go back to your homeland mostly using the short routes in order to reach in time but you will have assists from the local people and they will show you great love really.

In conclusion, I would like to encourage you and go to one of the greatest game parks in Uganda and Africa as whole which is Kidepo valley national park because it has very many attractive things as I have briefed them to you above, you will never gain boredom and stress while at Kidepo valley national park.

Planning to visit Rwanda for a vacation/ holiday, the first thing you need to sort out is a ride/ drive. How are you to fill that gap? Given the improved road infrastructure and good weather conditions, there is a growing number of people interested in self driving Rwanda. Driving in Rwanda is the only quick way to get around in Rwanda, be it for running errands or to get to places of interest including leisure.

While many prefer buying their own cars, it isn’t a great idea unless you’re settling in the Rwanda on a long-term basis. More and more people today are discovering the positives of renting a car in Rwanda through Car Rental Rwanda. It’s better to rent a car in Rwanda than to own one if you don’t want the overheads. If you are not planning to stay in Rwanda for long, we strongly recommend that you sign up a good service rental car company in Rwanda for the period of your stay. This is where car Rental Rwanda comes in to help.

Most people in the region always go with a nice luxury car rentals during their stay as it’s much more affordable here than in their own countries. I know that is not a reason to you as well, However Here are five reasons why renting a car is always cheaper in Rwanda through Car Rental Rwanda.

Public Transport is either too expensive or too slow

While taxis are convenient, they’ do burn a hole in your pocket if you need to zip around a lot. No matter how little a distance you cover, you would be charged with the initial fixed cost as a minimum. And if you happen to travel a large distance, a single ride would cost you as much as renting a high-technology car for the entire day.

Buying a car isn’t always the right decision

Owning a car puts you down with monthly Car loans something you can get rid of and not something you want when you don’t need that car. Say you grew tired of that car or it met with an accident that the warranty wouldn’t fix for good. Times like this the resale value of that car won’t even be enough to payback the rest of your loan amount.

You have the freedom to drive anywhere you want

With a rented car, you can get around to the place of your choice without any issues. Travelling to a distant place via public transport is impossible and more or less illogical. Even if you’ve agreed to shell out the cost of the taxi ride, you might not be able to find a ride back without the extra charge of booking it via the phone i.e. if they can reach you at all. If you live anywhere far from the main town or city, having a car you can drive yourself is quite essential.

No more overhead costs and parking woes when you leave

If you own a car, it is your responsibility to cover all maintenance and the costs of registration, insurance, among other things. If you live in Rwanda and travel abroad often, you’d be paying way more just to have your car parked in the lot. While renting a car online allows you to get the car delivered to you at the airport terminal as you arrive and picked up aligned with your departure time.

The cost of maintaining a car after a year or so is extensive. While if you have a rental car, the rental car company worries about the wear and tear of the car. They regularly get the car serviced and keep the paperwork such as insurance in check. All you do is pay the monthly cost of the rental and drive stress-free.

you can drive a dream car you cannot buy

You definitely want to gift your loved one a ride of that dream machine s/he is always talking about. Don’t even think of buying a car like that for you can rent it – no strings attached with Car Rental Rwanda. A leisure drive of that to National parks can do.

You don’t need to wait all your life to save up money to feel the ride of luxurious cars. Not anymore. All it takes is a driving license for visitors -more details and you can hire as much as a beautiful sports rental cars from car Rental Rwanda.

Self Drive Holidays in Uganda – Africa

Memories are everlasting for real and this makes me wonder the amazing self drive in Uganda holiday we made in Africa particularly in Uganda. Among the major holiday destinations we went to include the Bujagali falls, mountain Elgon national park and Lake Mburo national park far in the western Uganda. We made prior preparations including paying for the activities and lodges we were to sleep plus all other welfare through Moses a tour consultant at 4×4 Car Hire Uganda.

After making payments, in this case we wanted a self drive safari holiday and here we had to drive ourselves to all the destinations we were to go to. Since we had made all the reservations we just boarded to Uganda and we met our partners who had hired us a Toyota land cruiser at an affordable price. At Entebbe airport we were given our car after signing an agreement with them, we were given all that we required entailing tools, spare tyre and all other equipments.

Since we had reached early in the morning, we drove to Lake Mburo national park where we had to do sport fishing and also game drive. On that very day in the evening, we did sport fishing on the lake where we hooked four Nile perches which we smoked at night and this acted as our supper plus some others hard drinks from the nearby bar. This was so interesting since we felt value of our money and even we got experience on how fishermen survive on the lake waters.

Early in the morning, we did our game drive in the park though it is a summarized one, here we photographed the impala one of the major occupant of the park, zebras, water bucks and antelopes gave us a nice stunning experiential holiday here. The next day we went back to Kampala with our vehicle and we slept at Hotel Africana where we based to go to Jinja the next day.

While at Jinja, we went to the falls where we did white water rafting along the Nile River and in the evening, we toured the source of the Nile including the Ripon where most of the ship from the different routes and countries anchor. We went to crane hotel Jinja where we slept and in the morning, we went to mountain Elgon national park. The major activity we did here was mountain climbing.

We started our activity from Budadiri, this and this was quite a long trail to the top of the wagagi, as we were climbing, we got to interact with the Bamasaba who are the Major settlers of the area who were taking us through their way of life including their banana gardens on the slopes of the mountain. This also gave us an opportunity to view a spectacular view of Sipi falls. This took us five days to reach the peak. This was an exciting phenomenon since we saw the largest caldera on top of the Wagagi.

We spent an overnight up on the hill while enjoying the soothes of the prevailing cold winds in our camping tents. The next day we descended down the mountain passing over the rocks and the rouged terrains of the mountain. In this process, we enhanced our holiday by also visiting the bubbling hot spring located in the park. The next day, we went back to Kampala to catch up our flight after handing over the car to the company representative at the airport.

Jungle Swamps and Rain forests filled with screeching Chimpanzees and other primates. The tallest Mountain Range in Africa, Dormant Volcanoes to Climb.

Kidepo Valley National Park is a fabulous wildlife park in North eastern Uganda – when on a game drive you have the feeling that you are all alone here and alone you are in the most remote park in Uganda and for that matter East Africa. Kidepo Valley Park is a rugged, beautiful park that is like the Africa that you imagined it to be, but only better.  A park not to be missed.  It is on many people’s bucket list and yet it receives less than 10 visitors per day.

Murchison Falls National Park is the best all-around park in Uganda (due to travel time) with the most powerful waterfall in the world and the historic River Nile Running through it.  Murchison Falls National Park is also the most popular and most visited park in Uganda

Queen Elizabeth Park – one of Uganda’s favourite National Parks Queen Elizabeth National Park. You can easily spend a week here or longer Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda is simply a tapestry of natural wonders and one of its advantages is that it is conveniently located, close to Bwindi Impenetrable Park, Kibale Forest and the Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon. A park fit for a queen, and yes Queen Elizabeth has visited here.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in Southwest Uganda, home to over half of the Mountain Gorillas in the world, best spot for Birding in Africa.  Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is much more than Mountain Gorillas for you to partake in. (Gorilla Habituation Experience is now offered) There are the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Hiking Trails, the Batwa Experience , Biking through the Forest and more. Best Places to Visit in Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania

Operating out of the Red Chilli Hideaway – a popular backpacker stop-off in Kampala – this safari heads to Murchison Falls national park, the country’s largest. After a picnic overlooking the falls and a night in basic camp on the banks of the Upper Nile, the safari then takes in a morning game drive in the park’s Nile delta at Lake Albert – where you might see lion, leopard, giraffe and elephant – followed by a boat trip on the river. The camp is simple and facilities are communal but it is one of the few budget alternatives to Murchison’s luxury getaways. After a second night at the camp, the safari moves on to the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, where guests learn to track rhinos with one of the rangers. Transfer to Rwanda

A visit to Nyungwe Forest in Rwanda. This beautiful jungle is the largest rain forest in East Africa and is home to 12 primate species, including chimpanzees. Second stop we make is Volcanoes National Park, where Dian Fossey studied the Mountain Gorillas. You will never forget a meeting with the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. The mountain gorillas in the Virunga range get all the attention but Rwanda is home to numerous rare primates, most of which can be found in the staggeringly beautiful Nyungwe Forest national park in the south-west of the country.

The forest is best known for its large troops of chimpanzees but is also prime swinging grounds for L’Hoest’s monkeys, Angola Colobus, Vervet monkeys, and a range of others, along with around 300 bird species. Best of all, the cost for this whole package, which includes a day of tracking chimpanzees through the mountains, a nature walk, and two nights in a comfortable forest lodge with full board, still costs less than a single ($750) gorilla tracking permit up north. We end our trip in Rwanda in Kigali, from where we fly to Tanzania and this all can be much amazing on a self drive option travel and you can visit this Website” to rent a very reliable 4×4 WD vehicle.

The first national park we visit in Tanzania is Lake Manyara, one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a shallow but huge soda lake, located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. This park is famous for its tree-climbing lions. After that, we go to the Ngorongoro Crater, featuring one of the highest concentrations of game and arguably the densest population of predators and carnivores in Africa. A safari in the Serengeti is a bucket-list aspiration for many, which means that most tour packages to this game park push the definition of “affordable”. Nevertheless, the expansive Savannah and woodlands here are home to incredible wildlife spectacles, especially during the famous wildebeest migration, when up to two million animals are on the move (it is expected to take place from July on wards this year).

All of the “big five” are here, acting out their impulses with National Geographic-style theatricality, as safari van passengers stare agog. This four-day camping safari includes multiple game drives and a visit to Ngorongoro crater, the three-million-year-old extinct volcano that herds of tourists descend into to see herds of wildlife on the crater floor.

Then our stay at the Uganda Wildlife Authority Banda’s, and us and our guide Alex we prepared for our dinner and later back to our Banda’s. After being filled with all what Kidepo offers we continued to Murchison Falls National Park, and upon arrival we stayed at the Fort Murchison Camp, and this lodge is quite strategically stationed near the park so connecting to do our game drives was so convenient as it took us like 40 minutes into the park and start searching for the wildlife species. Later, we had our lunch near the shores of the shores of the River Nile, and after we took the amazing boat cruise along the River Nile towards the bottom of the falls and then when we reached at the end of the boat, we jumped off the boat and hike the top of the falls and upon our arrival at the top our guide with the car had already crossed with the ferry to meet us at the top and drive us back via the ferry to return to the lodge.

More so for clients that would not like stay at the lodge we stayed there is also other amazing camping places in the Murchison Falls National Park, like the camping near the shores of the River Nile at the delta side and this, the park management provide you with the security officers to protect you from wildlife and camp fire is set too at the camp. You can also opt to stay at Red Chill Camp, Yebo Camp, and Murchison River Lodge Camp among others.

Thereafter, we spent one night extra at the Budongo Forest and here we stayed at the Bomu Women Camp and this is locally home stay place that we loved much while on our safari, here you can practice in activities locally and then on our following day we experienced the chimpanzee trekking and the fee is $ 90 USD per person, and as this is an Eco Tourism destination much primates, birds, butterflies and plants species we experienced and after we embarked our safari jeep and continued to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and stayed in hostels and the meals here are local but so delicious!

After having visited the re-introduced white Rhinos, drove to the Fort Portal town and here we stayed again budget at the Raja Hotel, and then the following day we visited to Semliki National Park for the hot springs and also we experienced the night game drive that is much done in this national park having this experience we had to return to Entebbe for one more night and then visit to the Mabamba wetland for the search of the shoe bill and then in the evening embarked the flight back home and I highly recommend this saving type of travel in Uganda.
